This week, we celebrate our incredible counselors at SES, SMS, SHS, and OLC who go above and beyond for our students every single day.
From guiding academic paths to offering emotional support, your impact is powerful and lasting. Thank you for the difference you make in the lives of our students, families, and community!

School closure update as of 3:00 pm on Saturday, January 31, 2026.

Due to road conditions and subfreezing temperatures, SMSD will remain closed through Wednesday, January 28, 2026.

Morning traffic reroute: Due to construction, Ward Street will be closed for the foreseeable future . All traffic, both buses and cars, will need to enter campus from the Center Street entrance and exit by way of Warrior Drive.
Staff and crossing guards will be on site to help direct traffic. Please follow their guidance to ensure the safety of students, parents, and bus drivers. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we adjust to this change in our morning routine.

All juniors will take the ASVAB, and seniors who are interested may sign up to take the test through their school counselor.
The ASVAB is a career exploration assessment that helps students identify their strengths, skills, and interests. While the test is often associated with the military, students do not have to be interested in military service to benefit. Results provide valuable insight into career pathways, technical skills, workforce training options, and post-secondary planning.
There is no cost to students, and participation provides helpful information to support future decisions after high school.
If you have questions, please contact your student's counselor. Go Warriors!

Additional staff and crossing guards will be on site to help direct traffic. Please follow their guidance to ensure the safety of students, parents, and bus drivers.
